PossePlus Retreat February 14-16, 2026
The PossePlus Retreat is a weekend of interactive and challenging exploration facilitated by The Posse Foundation that brings together diverse members of college campuses to discuss important social issues. Originally started by the first Posse Scholars at Vanderbilt University, each retreat focuses on a topic of national importance through interactive workshops. Past themes have included race, class, gender, power, and education. The goal is to create safe spaces for dialogue between campus community members who might not typically interact. The retreat is led by expert facilitators provided by Posse to help break down silos, facilitate connections and build institutional capacity for inclusive excellence. It is a chance to step away from our everyday lives and find space to connect.
The 2026 PossePlus Retreat Theme:
Once Upon A Time… Fables, Fiction, and Facts
From the time we are young we hear stories that shape us. Who we are. What we believe. And what we dream. We are surrounded by stories that make up our world and how we connect to one another, but we don’t always have the time to ask: what is your story? Whose stories are we listening to? Which ones have we forgotten? And what stories can we tell together?
At the PossePlus Retreat, storytelling comes to life. You and 100 of your peers will come together, for a conversation about the stories that make up our lives: fables, fictions, and facts.
The 2026 PossePlus Retreat Schedule
PossePlus Retreat takes place over three days, from Friday to Sunday, with activities facilitated by visiting staff from the Posse Foundation.
Whitman College students, faculty, and staff are invited to join Posse scholars for this time together to build community. See Schedule for the full retreat itinerary.
